Newly capped Nigeria international goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo is few details from joining English Championship side Derby County from fellow championship side Wrexham, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Okonkwo who was very key to Wrexham’s failed bid to gain promotion pledged his international future to Nigeria after representing England at various youth levels.
He made his debut in the Unity Cup friendly tournament helping the team to lift the tournament. He had two straight clean sheets in the win over Zimbabwe and Jamaica in the final.
Now back at Wrexham, where he has been heavily involved in their pre season games but missed yesterday’s game against Liverpool with his move to Derby County almost done.
We gathered that he is due for a routine medical later today, before an official announcement will be made on his signing.
