The court in France has demanded that two fans of French Ligue 1 side Nice should be sent to prison for their role in the ambush of Nigeria international defender Terem Moffi and his teammate Jeremy Boga, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Moffi and Boga were attacked by fans of the club after a defeat in September, leading to him sustaining injuries that required treatment and a report to the authorities.
A final verdict on the jail sentence is expected to be made on the 11th of September, with Moffi not expected to be at the club at the end of the ongoing summer transfer window.
He refused to play for the team afterwards, and left on loan to Portuguese side FC Porto where he won the league, but they didn’t take up the option of making the deal permanent after the expiration of his loan.
Now back at the club for pre season training, but training separately after being told that he is not part of their plans for the upcoming season. A move away is considered as the best for all parties involved.
