Napoli defender Christian Mawissa has sent his apology to Nigeria international star Christantus Uche following a bad tackle in their 1-0 win over Getafe, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Mawissa was sent off for the tackle, but many feared the worst for Uche who is back at the club after an unsuccessful loan spell with English Premier League side Crystal Palace.
Uche was at the receiving end of a wild tackle from the French defender sparking fear on if he has suffered a broken shin, but Getafe issued a statement afterwards saying the injury isn’t as bad as initially feared.
The Frenchman has now toed the line of his coach by issuing an apology to Uche, wishing him a quick recovery from the setback caused by his poorly timed tackle.
“I would like to sincerely apologize for the injury caused during a poorly judged challenge this evening. I had no intention of hurting him and I am deeply sorry for it”, he said.
“I once again wish Uche a speedy recovery and will keep you in my prayers”.
