The chairman of the League Management Company,the body responsible for organising the Nigeria top flight league, Shehu Dikko is under immense pressure to re-open his case on the way he was barred from the elections that brought in Amaju Pinnick as president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Owngoalnigeria.com gathered that some members of State FA who formed the congress of the NFF that elected Pinnick and still remains the highest decision making board in Nigeria Football wants him to take over from the embattled Pinnick and not Giwa.
We gathered Dikko who was wrongly arrested and detained by the Department of State Security Service on the orders of Pinnick who was using his connections to the Nigerian government back then can cause the elections to be nullified with FIFA if he take forward the way he was barred from the congress to FIFA.
Dikko was the leading candidate favoured to voted in as president of the NFF before his arrest and detention which barred him from contesting which in FIFA terms amounts to use of third party or government interference as the reasons why he was arrested were vague and unsubstantiated merely done to frustrate him from contesting.
However the soft spoken gentleman who has revamped the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has so far refused their bait instead urging them to support a cause that will bring about a long lasting solutions to the problems of Nigeria football.
