Barring a last minute change of decision young arsenal goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo will be a part of the Nigeria U20 team when they campaign at the Africa U20 Cup of Nations, Owngoalnigeria.com has been reliably informed.
Okonkwo is already a youth international for England but Nigeria are willing to offer him the chance to make the step up to the U20s unlike with England where he is a player for their U17s.
An established first choice for Arsenal at U-18 level, Okonkwo is seen as an upgrade on the current option available in goal to the coach of the Nigeria U20 team , hence the decision to approach him over a possible switch of allegiance.
Already he has trained with the first team of Arsenal severally and many view him as the future goalkeeper of the team, something that looks likely in the nearest future as he recently extended his contract with Arsenal.
