As part of their preparations for the start of a new season English Premier League side Chelsea won their first pre season game 6-4 against Australian side Western Sydney Wanderers, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
It was the first match that head coach Xabi Alonso who was appointed in the summer will be in charge, and his team responded with an empathic performance despite trailing twice.
The coach pick a very young team for the game, but although he had some of his regular senior players in the starting lineup notably Tosin Adarabiyio.
Tosin led a defence that has two other players of Nigerian descent as the back four in Olutayo Subuloye and Landon Emenalo. Josh Acheampong who is of Ghanian descent complete the back four that started the game.
The trio have all represented England at various youth levels, but can still play for Nigeria at senior level. Tosin recently pledged his international future to Nigeria but he hasn’t gotten the attention of head coach of the team Eric Chelle.
