Hot on the heels of the transfer of Akor Adams to newly promoted Italian Serie A side Venezia from Sevilla, another senior national team player of Nigeria has moved to a newly promoted Italian Serie A side, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Adams made the shock move of the transfer window so far among Nigerian players with his move to the ambitious side, who are backed by investment from hip hop icon Drake.
His kind of move has now been replicated by Kevin Akpoguma who left Hoffenheim in the summer following the expiration of his deal, and no offer of an extension.
The 31 year old who has eight senior caps for Nigeria has joined Frosinone who are back in the Italian top flight, and it will be his first sojourn outside Germany where he has spent the last 13 years of his professional career.
At international level he represented Germany at various youth levels before switching to Nigeria at senior level. He has however not been involved in the Nigerian setup for a period of more than three years.
