Banik Ostrava defender Abdullahi Bewene who made his international debut for Nigeria during the last international break is angling towards an exit from the club, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
The 21 year old stole the heart of many in his international debut game against Poland with his composure under pressure, and followed it up with another top performance against Portugal in another friendly game.
He showed enough to win the heart of head coach of the Nigerian team Eric Chelle, who spoke glowingly about how he adapted to the pressure despite the fact that he was a late addition to the team.
His performance caught the attention of Dutch giants Ajax, Belgium side Anderlecht but the asking price of Banik Ostrava stopped the above mentioned teams from following up their interest.
A source revealed that English Championship sides Burnley and Blackburn Rovers also made checks on his availability, but the same issue of his transfer fee wrecked their intentions.
For now he is left with just two options on the table from two of Czech Republic giants in Slavia Prague and Sparta Praha. Both teams will once again put their rivalry to test with a bid for the Nigerian before the end of the summer transfer window.
