The proposed transfer of Nigeria international winger Chidera Ejuke to Belgium side Anderlecht from Sevilla is currently held up by the player’s higb wage demand, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Ejuke has been told that he is free to leave the Spanish side with a year left on his deal and the club not willing to offer him an extension. He was dropped from their squad for pre season training tour.
So far he has been linked with teams from Saudi Arabia and English Premier League side Fulham, but it’s Anderlecht that has taken the first step towards having him in their team.
According to Transfer Feed, El Gol Digital, the Belgian club is reportedly preparing an offer of between €3.5 and €4 million, but one of the things they need to renegotiate is the player’s salary, estimated at €1.9 million per season.
Anderlecht reportedly considers this figure excessive. There is still no official information, but there is continued activity at Sevilla FC’s offices to see that the deal sail through.
