Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle says his list of players for the upcoming AFCON 2027 qualifiers is ready, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Super Eagles have been drawn in Group L for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, alongside Madagascar, Guinea-Bissau, and co-hosts Tanzania.
The tournament will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from June 19 to July 17, 2027, with matchday one kicking off on September 21, 2026. Nigeria will play host to Madagascar on the 23rd of September in Uyo.
Chelle said he already has the players that will prosecute the game and hinted at the possibility of having three new players in the team. ” Yes I have my players to play in the games in September and hopefully some new players could be in the team. Maybe three”, he said.
” We ( Super Eagles) need to start well and not let any point drop because only one team will qualify from our group due to one of the host Tanzania with us. The idea is to start really well”.
