George Ilenikhena who recently accepted the offer to play for the senior national team of Nigeria is close to a return to Europe in the ongoing summer transfer window, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
The 19 year stunned all when he decided to move to Saudi Arabia side Al Ittihad from Ligue 1 side Monaco in the January transfer window of 2026.
After six months in Saudi Arabia he is keen on a return back to Europe and Spanish LaLiga side Sevilla have made the first and most significant step towards having him in their squad.
Al Ittihad have already given the go ahead for the loan move as he has failed to settle down since his move, no thanks to injuries and fitness concerns although he is back to full fitness.
Sevilla are light in numbers in attack following the departure of Nigeria international striker Akor Adams, who left for newly promoted Italian Serie A side Venezia for a fee around €16m.
