Nigeria defender Chibuike Nwaiwu won’t be leaving Turkish side Trabzonspor in the ongoing summer transfer window following the signing of Egyptian talisman Mohamed Salah, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Salah joined the club in a shocking transfer twist as he was linked with a move to fellow Turkish side Besiktas for most of the window, before the unexpected switch to Trabzonspor.
His signing has brought about a change of plan for Nwaiwu who has been pushing for an exit and has been a subject of two failed bids from English Premier League side Fulham. Crystal Palace also made inquiries on his situation and availability.
However he is now leaning towards staying at the club with the hope that they will mount a serious title challenge, and hopefully further enhance his reputation as one of the young emerging centre backs in Europe.
The 22 year old joined the team from Austrian side Wolfsberger in the January transfer window, and ended up becoming a pivotal part of the team playing in 16 games with three goals.
