Al Ittihad striker George Ilenikhena who recently accepted to play for the senior national team of Nigeria won’t be joining Spanish LaLiga side Sevilla, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Ilenikhena is keen on a return to Europe, six months after leaving French Ligue 1 side Monaco for Saudi Arabia and Sevilla were in the front of the queue for his loan signing.
However reports say despite all personal terms agreed with the 19 year old, a club to club agreement wasn’t found with Al Ittihad leading to a collapse of the deal.
The Saudis are however open to other options, and for now Real Betis have been credited with an interest but no firm discussion has taken place yet. Teams in Ligue 1 are also alerted to his availability.
A move is expected to be concluded before the close of the ongoing summer transfer window in Europe. His preference is for a club playing in an European competition.
