AS Roma 19 year old teen sensation Sadiq Umar made the list of top ten scoring teenagers in the top five major European league but there was no spot for his most illustrious Nigeria compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho of Manchester City.
Sadiq Umar made the list ahead of Iheanacho due to his exploits in the league for AS Roma where he has two goals in the Italian Serie A from fewer game than Iheanacho who has 8 goals in all competitions but needed 15 games to score twice while it took Sadiq Umar just six games.
However while Iheanacho is well known for his exploits for the Nigeria U-17 and 20 teams and has one senior cap “Jololo” as Sadiq Umar is fondly called is yet to be capped by Nigeria at any level but reports sourced by owngoalnigeria.com has it that he will be a part of the U-23 team who are set to campaign in the Olympics in Beijing.
At AS Roma Sadiq is yet to make an appearance under new manager Luciano Spalleti but reports indicate he is firmly in the manager’s plan but the coach want to ease off some of the pressure on him by taking him off the firing line as AS Roma bid to get their season back on track.
