German Bundesliga side Hamburg are looking at signing Nigeria international striker Terem Moffi from French Ligue 1 side Nice, where he has been banished from training with the first team.
Moffi had a fallout with the club after an attack by fans of the club following a defeat in the league last year. He spent the second half of the season on loan ro FC Porto where he scored just twice with two assists in 15 games.
Porto didn’t take up the option of signing him permanently, forcing him to return to Nice for pre season training but the club are insisting that he has to leave with just one year left on his deal at the club.
Hamburg according to Hamburger Abendblatt have opened talks regarding the 27-year-old Nigerian in view of a deal many believe will be in the region of €8m. The discussion is said to be going on smoothly with parties involved keen on making it happen.
Moffi has has a torrid time since suffering a knee ligament injury two seasons ago, but still holds a very good record of 54 goals from 148 Ligue 1 outings for Lorient and Nice.
