Ex Remo Stars teen sensation Adeshina Ayodele has joined top division Belgium side Mechelen from French Ligue 1 side Lille, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
His signing is seen as the first step towards having top flight football for his further development, after failing to crack it at the highest level in France. He signed a deal till the summer of 2029.
The 20-year-old centre forward joins from LOSC Lille B. The young attacker’s roots lie in Nigeria. In his home country, he received his youth training at Remo Stars. In 2024, Lille brought him to Europe.
At LOSC Lille B, he scored 22 goals and provided 8 assists in 54 matches. He also played 6 matches in the UEFA Youth League, where he found the net twice.
“Adeshina Ayodele is a player with speed and depth,” says coach of the team Tom Caluwé. “Due to his strong physical profile, he should provide extra competition in the attacking line.”
