Super Eagles Unity Cup Star Seek Exit After Third Failed Bid From Brighton

0

The future of newly capped Nigeria international winger Femi Azeez will be one of the stories to keep an eye on when the summer transfer window closes on Tuesday, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

A star for the senior national team of Nigeria at the Unity Cup in the summer, where he made his international debut with two goals and an assist which helped the team to the title.

Earlier in the summer newly promoted Ipswich Town reportedly failed with a bid for his service, and Aston Villa were also rumoured to be on his chase as well as some teams in Italy.

However it’s Brighton that has been the most active in his pursuit with two failed bids, which has been rejected and latest report indicate that a third was also rejected.

Brighton’s latest bid for the 25 year old, is believed to be around £12m. Transfer expert David Ornstein posted: “Femi Azeez tells Millwall of wish to exit + join Brighton & Hove Albion after 3rd offer rejected.

“Latest proposal for right winger above £12m package; still under #Millwall valuation but #BHAFC pursuit ongoing & 25yo wants PL move granted.”

The BBC previously reported that fellow Championship club Wrexham are also keen on Azeez but the Nigerian wants a move to Brighton.

Brentford Celebrate Return Of Benjamin Fredrick To Match Action

0

Nigeria international defender Benjamin Fredrick made his long awaited return to match action for English Premier League side Brentford, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Fredrick picked up a meniscus injury that required surgery during a loan spell with Belgium side FC Dender in November, cutting short his season long stay.

He returned to Brentford where he was confirmed as a first team player, but his return to match practice was delayed by the English side who were careful in introducing him to contact after nine months on the sidelines.

Like we exclusively reported two weeks ago, his expected return of the end of the month went as planned after he played 45 minutes for the U21 in their 5-1 win over Sunderland earlier today.

Brentford celebrated his return with a post on their social media handle. A sign that the 21 year old is now ready to be integrated into the first team activities for the season.

Why Online Casino Players Are Exploring Sportsbook Odds for Better Variety

0

Online casino gaming has always brought in people who like to play slots, table games, live dealer games, and some other fun games on the web. Now, there are more people who also want to bet on sports. The idea is not to stop playing casino games. Instead, it is to have one more way to have fun on the same site and make your gaming time feel fresh and fun.

Why Casino Players Are Looking Beyond Traditional Games

Many people who play at online casinos like to check out sportsbook odds. This gives them a new way to feel part of games they already enjoy. You do not have to rely just on what happens in a casino game. With sports betting, you get to think about real games, how a team plays, what a player has done, and some other things before you make your pick.

This brings a new way for people to join in. A casino session can be all about the rules of the game and having fun. Sports betting is more about looking up information and waiting for planned games.

Sports Bring a Different Kind of Engagement

You can play casino games at any time you want. But sports betting depends on a set event. A football game, tennis tournament, basketball match, or motorsport race gives you a real schedule. This timeline can make betting feel more fun and give you a way to feel part of the action.

For people who enjoy casinos, this change can make sports betting feel like something new to try, not something that takes the place of the casino. They can watch a game and keep an eye on the odds. It is fun to see how different things can change the market.

Live betting can bring something new, as the odds can change while the game goes on. A goal, injury, when things shift, or when a player does something no one thought can all change what you can bet on.

Research Adds a New Skill Element

One reason some people who play at casinos may like sports betting is that they get time to look into things before they make a choice. A lot of games at the casino are based on luck and random results. But in sports betting, there is information that you can check and use when you place your bets.

Useful areas to examine include:

● Recent team or player work in games
● Injuries, suspensions, or if the lineup changes
● Records when at home and when away
● Past times these teams or players have played against each other

This does not mean you will win your bet, but it lets people choose in a way that is not the same as other games in the casino.

More Variety Across a Gaming Session

People go to sports betting for more variety. When you play the same game over and over, it can feel the same every time. But if people try new things and switch between games, it makes things more fun and interesting.

Someone who likes to play online slots might spend some time in the evening playing these games. Then, they might look at the odds for a match they want to see. Another person could be into table games and sometimes look at tennis or football markets too.

The main point is that you need to look at each thing you do on its own. Do not think that doing well in one will always mean you do well in the other.

Understanding Odds Before Placing Bets

Casino players who do not know much about sports betting need to understand how odds work before they bet money. Odds can show you what you might get back if you win, but they also show what people in the market think will happen.

Players need to know how odds work on each platform and in each place. There are many types, like fractional and American odds. They must see that when odds change, it does not always mean the outcome will be sure.

Setting a set budget is also key. The goal for sports wagering is to have fun. It should not be used to get back casino losses. It is also not something you should count on for steady income.

Conclusion

Many people who play online casino games are now getting into sports betting. The main reason for this is that it gives more options and a new way to keep people interested. Sports add real-world events, chances to do research, markets that change all the time, and live, waiting moments. You do not get all of this in the same way with standard casino games.

Checking out sportsbook odds can give your online gaming time something new. This will work well if you know about the risks, understand how betting works, and stay smart about your spending limits.

Alverca Defender In Line To Replace Injured Zaidu In Super Eagles AFCON Squad

0

22 year old Alverca of Portugal left back Isaac James is favoured to be the replacement for injured Zaidu Sanusi in the Super Eagles preparations for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers in September, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

James has been on the radar of the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle, since last season where he had his breakthrough at the Portuguese side following his arrival for free from French side Lorient.

This season Chelle has posted his scouts to watch the young left back on three separate occasions, and was heavily impressed with the reports he received.

With the abductor injury to Zaidu which will keep him out for two months, the coach will no doubt look his way although he faces tough competition from the duo of Ola Aina and Bright Osayi-Samuel, who have also been deployed in that role aside their primary role as right back.

Bruno Onyemaechi will however retain his position as the first choice going into the games.

Chuba Akpom Keep Super Eagles Hope Alive With Goal Against Man Utd

0

30 year old Ipswich Town striker Chuba Akpom kept alive his dream of earning a call up to the senior national team of Nigeria after his goal for Ipswich Town in their 2-5 defeat to Manchester United in the English Premier League, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Akpom who was introduced at the start of the second half in the defeat, proved to be a handful for the defence of Manchester United before finally getting the goal that his performance deserved.

A youth international for England at various levels, the former Arsenal teen prospect switched his nationality to Nigeria but hasn’t gotten a look in since then, no thanks to a not so steady club career.

Before the start of the season, shortly after his loan move from Ajax was made permanent by Ipswich following promotion to the Premier League, he made it clear that he still has his heart set on senior national team football with Nigeria.

He detailed how he worked hard for the season to put himself in the frame for a call up with his club performance.

“During the off-season, I literally sacrificed my whole summer into making sure I’m in shape and making sure I’m mentally ready,” he said. “I knew that last season wasn’t the best one for me, so I wanted to use the whole summer to get ready for this pre-season.

“I felt like I’ve come back physically and mentally in the best shape possible. It’s been a good pre-season for me and I’m hoping to take that into the season.

“I went on a family holiday, but every morning at 7am I was up training. In the evening, when my kid’s gone to sleep, I was back in the gym training and I went on a training camp by myself.

“It’s not nice to leave your family back home and go on a training camp alone, but that’s the sacrifice that needs to be made. I was willing to make that to make sure I was coming back in good shape.

“For me, it gave me even more hunger because it’s a new manager that’s coming in. Everyone’s got a fresh start and he’s going to judge you by what he sees in training. I just came in with the most hunger that I could”.

High Ceiling Like Osimhen – Hradec Abdullahi Umar To Lead Nigeria U23 Attack

0

A decision has been made by the head coach of the Nigeria U23 team Eric Chelle on his preferred option to lead the attack of his team when the qualifiers for the Olympics begin, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Chelle who also doubles as the head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria has his sights set on ensuring that Nigeria returns to the Olympic football event, after failing to qualify for the last two editions.

The coach has a scout who has submitted a list of foreign based players who will be a part of the team, when the qualifiers get underway later in the year.

We can exclusively reveal that 19 year old Hradec Kralove of Czech Republic striker Abdullahi Umar has been picked to lead the attack for the team, after impressing Chelle with his performances in Europe this season.

Umar scored twice for his team in the 2-2 draw against Panathinaikos in the first leg tie, and also tormented Besiktas in the early round of the Europa League.

Last season he scored a whopping 25 goals in 29 games for the U19 leading to his elevation to the first team, where he hasn’t so far looked out of place.

Sources say he is seen by Chelle as someone with a ceiling to improve like the top striker of the senior national team of Nigeria Victor Osimhen.

Meet The Man Favored To Be New Interim President Of The NFF, NSC Meets FIFA

0

A new head to lead the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as the interim president and head of the normalisation committee has been picked by the presidency per what we exclusively gathered.

The board of the NFF was dissolved after mass resignation, led by the president of the football body Ibrahim Musa Gusau. It opened the door for the setting up of a normalisation committee that will run the country’s football for three months.

OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal that a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in AbdulHakeem Uthman Mustapha is the choice of majority of power brokers in the presidency.

Our checks on his profile from Nigerian website Sports Village Square, revealed that Mustapha is a member of FIFA’s Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Committee, a position that gives him direct exposure to the global football governing body and its administrative framework.

He also previously served as President of the CAF Appeal Committee, placing him among Nigerians with substantial experience in African football’s legal and judicial structures.

His international football credentials could prove particularly important if the proposed normalisation process is expected to enjoy the confidence of FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

He was picked ahead of a seasoned administrator from the South South, whose candidacy was endorsed by the minister of the FCT Nyesom Wike, but not so popular with those at the helm of the National Sports Commission (NSC).

Meanwhile top officials of the NSC are in talks with FIFA to complete the formal process of setting up the committee, that will usher in a new direction for Nigerian football after the failures of four years with Gusau.

They have already failed with two bids, with the latest bid reportedly worth just over £10m, but still below the valuation that Millwall placed on the winger who was voted in the English Championship team of the season.

Talks will continue with the player keen on the move, and Millwall willing to help him achieve his dream of playing in the English Premier League.

Abdul ” New Okocha” Abdulmalik Make Record Transfer

0

Swedish side Djurgården have signed Abdul Abdulmalik from 5th division English team Boreham Wood setting a new record sale in English 5th tier, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

He was signed for £1.5m after his spectacular season last term out put him on the radar of a host of teams in England, and also around Europe.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a breakout season in 2025-26, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists as Boreham Wood reached the National League play-off final, where he scored and assisted at Wembley.

The forward came through Millwall’s academy, progressing through the club’s youth system and representing England at under-17 level.

He was part of the club’s Under-21s successes – securing consecutive Professional Development League South titles in 2022-23 and 2023-24.

However, a pathway into consistent first-team football did not materialise and Abdulmalik was released in 2024. Boreham Wood moved quickly to offer him a fresh opportunity, signing him as a free agent.

The move has proved transformative with Abdulmalik establishing himself as one of the National League’s most exciting attacking players, with the ability to create and score goals.

With all eyes on him and his next move, he has committed his international future to Nigeria, and believe he is the closest to former Super Eagles captain and legend Austine Okocha.

However he knows for that to materialise he must move from non league football to a top league, and drop consistent performances due to the competitive nature of the senior national team of Nigeria.

Bundesliga Star Shows Why Chelle Wants Him As Super Eagles Number 10

0

Yesterday newly promoted German Bundesliga side Elversberg created the biggest shock in the opening weekend of the Bundesliga with a 3-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

The star of the win was Francis-Ikechukwu Onyeka, a 19 year old who was born in Germany to parents of Nigerian descent making him eligible for the senior national team of Nigeria .

He is on loan to the newly promoted side from Bayer Leverkusen, and he showed them exactly why the head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle is keen on having him in his team.

Fresh from winning the man of the match in the German Cup he followed that performance with an assist for his side’s opener, and also had a hand in the third goal for his team.

A youth international for Germany, Chelle is hopeful that he will be able to convince him after talks but at the moment contacts is yet to be established with his representatives.

Nigeria U20 Winger Denies Returning Nkunku His Favorite RB Leipzig Number

0

Christopher Nkunku has been denied his favourite shirt number at RB Leipzig following his return to the club he left three seasons ago , OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

After two unhappy years in England plus a loan spell in the second half of last season with AC Milan he returned to the club on a permanent transfer, but discovered that his favourite shirt number is no longer available.

He was in the squad for the Bundesliga opener against Borussia Mönchengladbach for the first time – with a new jersey number.

Many fans know the 28-year-old primarily with the number 18 on his back. Even after leaving Cottaweg, he remained loyal to his jersey number and wore it at both Chelsea and AC Milan.

However, Suleman Sani is already wearing number 18 for RB Leipzig this season. Due to Bundesliga and cup regulations, a change of jersey number during the current season is no longer possible. Therefore, the Frenchman will wear number 28 upon his return.
